Summary of Club events for the period July to December, 2013.

SATURDAY, JULY 6TH:   Walks in Le Jardin Daniel A. Séguin and le Parc les Salines, Saint-Hyacinthe. 

MONDAY, JULY 15TH:  Summer stroll through Bois de Liesse Nature Park.

SATURDAY-SUNDAY, JULY 20TH-21ST:    Canoeing Weekend in Vermont (Mississquoi River) with possibility of optional easy walking trails on Burton Island in St. Albans Bay on one of the days.  Passport necessary.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 3RD:   Trip to Refuge Faunique d’Youville, Ile St-Bernard, via boat from the Lachine Boarding Dock at 8:45 a.m. – with a walk in the park and return by boat at either 3:00 p.m. or 5:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 17TH:   Hiking along the Ouareau Rivier at Sentier des Murmures, Pont Suspendu, Fôret Oureau.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 27TH:  Walk from Atwater Market along the canal recreational path to Lachine Canal National Historic Site.

SATURDAY – MONDAY, AUGUST 31ST – SEPTEMBER 2ND :   Labour Day Weekend – Camping and hiking at Parc de la Mauricie – Rivière à la Pêche.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH:   Annual Pot Luck Picnic at Côte de Vaudreuil Vineyard with wine tasting and tour of the vineyard. 

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14TH:   Intermediate hiking at Aux Berges du Lac Castor, near Saint-Paulin.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH:   Walk at Pointe-Aux-Prairies Nature Park.

 WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH:  Indoor Meeting (7:30 p.m.- Room 210 of the Leacock Building, McGill University, 855 Sherbrooke St. West).  “Climbing Kilimanjaro” –  presentation by Catherine Gilbert, a member of the Montreal Field Naturalists.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28TH:   Hiking in the Ruiter Valley Land Trust, near Mansonville.

FRIDAY – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4TH – 6TH:  Hiking Weekend in the Adirondacks.  Passport necessary.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10TH:  Walk at De Montigny Baisin “pond”, Ville d’Anjou.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19TH:   Intermediate hike in Parc Dufresne, Val-David.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30TH:  Indoor Meeting (7:30 p.m.- Room 210 of the Leacock Building, McGill University, 855 Sherbrooke St. West).  “Climate Change and Deforestation”  –  presentation by Dr. Catherine Potvin.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2ND :   Intermediate Hike to Round Top Mountain, Sutton. 

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH:   Walk in Cap St. Jacques.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH:  Indoor Meeting (7:30 p.m.- Room 210 of the Leacock Building, McGill University, 855 Sherbrooke St. West).  “Approaches to Primate Conservation”  –   presentation by Dr. Colin Chapman.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH:   Late Fall walk at Bois de Belle-Rivière.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17TH:   Holiday Dinner at Caverne Grecque, 105 Prince Arthur.
