PROGRAM IN BRIEF, July through December, 2014

Saturday, July 5th:  Trip to Route des Gerbes d’Angelica, Mirabel (ten thematic gardens with works of art and music) followed by forest walk at Le BoiséMultiressource Von Allmen, Carillon.

Saturday, July 19th:   Trip to Refuge Faunique d’Youville, Ile St-Bernard via boat from the Lachine Boarding Dock at 8:45 a.m. – with a walk in the park and return by boat at either 3:00 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. 

Saturday, August 2nd:  Easy walking at Pimbina Section of Mont Tremblant (La Chûte aux Rats Trail). 

Saturday-Sunday, August 16th-17th:  Canoeing Weekend in Vermont – weather permitting, canoeing  in the Missisquoi River on Saturday and walking or swimming on Sunday at Burton Island in St. Albans Bay. 

Wednesday, August  20th:  Midweek excursion to Murray Hill, 3rd summit of Mont Royal – picnic lunch on the  newly built lookout. 

Saturday-Monday, August 30th–September 1st:  Camping and hiking weekend at Parc de la Mauricie – Rivière àla Pêche

Saturday, September 6thAnnual Pot Luck Picnic at the Eco-Museum, Ste-Anne de Bellevue.

Saturday, September 20th:  Intermediate hike at Parc Régional Sept-Chûtes.

Wednesday, September 24thIndoor Meeting (7:30 p.m.- Room 011 in the Sandiford Lab, Room 007 of the Bronfman Building, McGill University, 1001 Sherbrooke Street West.  “The Green Forest Project in The Southern Netherlands” – presentation by Celestine Segers, a member of the Montreal Field Naturalists.

Sunday, September 28th:  10:00 a.m. Tour of the Trees of McGill University.

Saturday-Monday, October 4th-6th:  Hiking weekend in The Adirondacks, staying at the ADK Trail Inn.  Passport necessary.

Saturday, October 18th:  Intermediate hike at Parc d’Oka.

Wednesday, October 29th: Indoor Meeting (7:30 p.m.- Room 011 in the Sandiford Lab, Room 007 of the Bronfman Building, McGill University, 1001 Sherbrooke Street West.   Catherine Gilbert, a field nat member, will give a presentation on “Walking the Camino Santiago Trail”, a hike she did several years ago.

Saturday, November 1st:  Easy to Intermediate hike at Mont Ste-Hilaire.

Saturday, November 15th:   Walk in Parc Rivière du Nord.

Wednesday, November 26th:   Indoor Meeting (7:30 p.m.- Room 011 in the Sandiford Lab, Room 007 of the Bronfman Building, McGill University, 1001 Sherbrooke Street West.  

Saturday, November 29th:   Late Fall walk at Parc Régional St. Bernard.

Wednesday, December  17th:  Holiday Dinner – Brochetterie Parthanon, 5405 Queen Mary Road, Montreal.
